How state eligibility works

The federal Lifeline program is administered by USAC under FCC oversight and is available in all 50 U.S. states, U.S. territories, and Tribal lands. Each state may have additional state-level programs (like California LifeLine or Oregon Telephone Assistance Program) that stack on top of the federal Lifeline benefit - increasing the iPhone models available, plan minutes, and hotspot data.

Wireless provider availability also varies by state and ZIP code. Assurance Wireless, SafeLink Wireless, TruConnect, AirTalk Wireless and Tag Mobile do not all operate in every state. Our state hubs show which providers currently serve your area, along with typical iPhone stock and approval times.
