1. Who we are

Lifeline Free iPhone is an independent editorial guide to the federal Lifeline benefit and other low-income telephone assistance programs. We are not a government agency, and we are not affiliated with the FCC, USAC, the Lifeline program, or any wireless carrier.

Our office of record is 1201 N Market St, Suite 100, Wilmington, DE 19801. The data controller responsible for this website is Lifeline Free iPhone.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run this website and answer inquiries:

  • Information you give us: your name, email, ZIP code and the message body when you fill out a contact form, corrections form, or newsletter opt-in.
  • Automatic technical data: IP address, user agent, referring URL, pages viewed and timestamps, gathered via privacy-respecting analytics.
  • Cookies: a small session cookie for site functionality and, if you consent, analytics cookies. See our Cookies section below.

We do not collect your Social Security Number, SNAP case number, Medicaid ID, income documentation, or any Lifeline application data on this site. All eligibility verification happens on the federal National Verifier at checklifeline.org and directly with the Lifeline provider you choose.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above only to:

  • Reply to questions you send through the contact form.
  • Send you the newsletter, if and only if you subscribed.
  • Understand which pages and provider guides are most useful, so we can keep them accurate.
  • Detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent traffic.

We never use your information for behavioral advertising and we do not build profiles of individual visitors.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share limited information only with:

  • Service providers that host this website (Cloudflare), send email replies, and process privacy-respecting analytics. Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
  • Law enforcement when we receive a valid subpoena or court order in the jurisdictions where we operate.

We do not share your contact form data with Lifeline providers unless you explicitly ask us to make an introduction.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use a single first-party session cookie for basic site functionality. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time from your browser settings.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal and treat it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information, even though we do not sell data.

6. How long we keep information

  • Contact form messages: 24 months, then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
  • Server access logs: 90 days.
  • Aggregated, anonymized analytics: retained indefinitely.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port the information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. This includes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and other U.S. state privacy laws.

To exercise any right, email contact@lifelinefreeiphone.com. We will respond within 30 days. You will not be discriminated against for exercising a privacy right.

8. Children under 13

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, email us and we will delete it.

9. Security

All traffic to lifelinefreeiphone.com is served over HTTPS with modern TLS. Contact form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No online service is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we follow industry-standard safeguards and review them annually.

10. Changes to this policy

When we materially change this policy, we update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for significant changes, post a notice on the homepage for at least 14 days.
